Best overall portable grill

Weber Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill

Weber Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill

Weight: 42lbs

Dimensions: 26” x 51.4” x 25.1”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Enameled, Cast-Iron Cooking Grates

No. of Burners: 1

We chose the Weber Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill as the best overall portable grill amongst its competitors because of its durable build, foldable side tables, high-quality cast-iron cooking grates, and portability. If you're willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars for a quality grill made by a well-known brand, then this should be at the top of your wish list.

What we like about the Weber Q2200, given its price tag, is its sturdiness and durability. The materials used to create this grill are all high-quality. These include a tall cast aluminum lid, a heat-resistant glass-reinforced nylon frame for the body, and stainless steel for the burner.

Additionally, this grill provides even cooking all throughout thanks to its porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grates. What we especially like about this portable grill is that it has a split grid, which gives it more flexibility than its competition. The split grid allows you to have a grate on one side, and a griddle on the other.

Another feature worth mentioning is the foldable side working tables, which give you extra space for your spices, sauces, and cooking utensils. This grill also has push-button ignition, a hood-mounted thermometer, and a removable catch pan.

What we didn't like about the Weber Q2200, on the other hand, is that, with 42lbs, it is a bit too heavy for a portable grill, especially if you're traveling with a small group. Also, this grill doesn't come with a portable cart. You would have to buy it separately, which, take it from us, makes a huge difference when transporting it.

Overall, the Weber Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill is a little bit expensive, but if you're looking for a long-term investment for your camping or outdoor grill, then this is the best choice on the market. Not only is it durable, but it also provides even heating, can easily be cleaned, can serve at least 2-4 people, has excellent space and features, and is made by one of the most well-known grill manufacturers since 1950.

Best portable gas grill

Cuisinart Petit Gourmet Gas Grill with VersaStand

Cuisinart Petit Gourmet Gas Grill with VersaStand

Weight: 18.8lbs

Dimensions: 28” x 17.5” 32.5”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Enameled Coated Grill Grate

No. of Burners: 1

We consider the Cuisinart Petit Gourmet Gas Grill with VersaStand as one of the most portable gas grills on the market today, because it's lightweight, and compact enough to be carried around effortlessly. Plus, the legs can easily be adjusted, and it's fuel-efficient, making it perfect for cooking in camps.

With a weight of 18.8lbs, it is the perfect grill if you plan on transporting it, and it can be conveniently placed almost anywhere on your camping area. Plus, the foldable legs only take minimum space in your trunk.

The porcelain-enameled 145-square-inch grilling surface is easy to cook on and is non-stick, so you can rest assured that what you're cooking doesn't end up getting torn open when you toss it around. Since it only has 5,500 BTU power, you can't expect it to cook meals fast. However, it has almost even cooking, which is slightly warmer on the area that's directly above the burner head.

Compared to full-sized grills, this one only uses minimal fuel and can heat up pretty quickly, which is perfect for a fast camp cooking experience. One of the perks of the Petit Gourmet is that it gives you great temperature control. You can easily turn the heat high or low, without worrying about accidentally turning it off, as you would need to push down the dial and twist to the “off” label to turn it off completely.

During our testing period, we noticed that this portable gas grill performs extremely well, even in high winds. Whether you've fully extended the legs or set them down low, the flame is not affected by the wind, because the stainless steel burner is set down and large enough to protect the flame.

What we didn't like about the Cuisinart Petit Gourmet Gas Grill however is that, with continuous use, the lid latch becomes difficult to open and close. Plus, due to the smoke, it started to darken and was difficult to clean. Also, the legs are quite unstable, especially on an unlevel surface.

Weber Q1200 Liquid Propane Grill

Weber Q1200 Liquid Propane Grill

Weight: 31lbs

Dimensions: 24.6” x 40.9” x 20.5”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Enameled Cast-Iron

No. of Burners: 1

If you're looking for a portable gas grill that provides fast and even cooking, has a great non-stick grill surface and high-quality temperature control, starts instantly with the ignition, and has great side tables, the Weber Q1200 Liquid Propane Grill should be at the top of your list.

What we like about the Weber Q1200 is that it heats up quickly and evenly. Thanks to the power of 8,500 BTUs, this has one of the fastest cooking time in this category. Plus, we found that the push-button electronic ignition only needs to be pressed once in order for you to start your fire.

Also, you'll find an infinite control burner valve, which makes it easy to adjust the heat from the high setting, to medium, or low. It has a built-in temperature gauge as well, so you can monitor how hot you want the griller to be.

It's worth mentioning though that once the lid is open, the grill cools down quickly, so you would have to do your flipping in a hurry to maintain the same heat. However, the grease trap is easy to insert and remove, and the regular is fitted nicely.

We also love the fact that the frame of this grill is made with glass-reinforced nylon, and the body is made of cast-aluminum lid, making it sturdy, flexible, and anti-rust. The side tables for this grill are made of plastic, making them flexible enough to fold them when you want to carry them. Although, it's important to make sure that it has cooled down first, so that it won't melt.

As for the actual grill, it's made with porcelain-enameled cast-iron, which makes it non-stick and easy to clean with a sponge. Also, we're happy to say that you can put it in the dishwasher once you get back home.

Lastly, the grill and lid make it wind resistant, so you don't have to worry about flames setting off. The only thing that's not wind resistant on this grill is the disposable aluminum grease trap. You can choose not to attach this to the grill; just make sure to put something heavy, like a rock, on top of it to ensure that it doesn't fly away.

What we didn't like about the Weber Q1200 Liquid Propane Grill is that it's one of the heaviest grills in this category, since most of its direct competition only weighs around 21lbs or less.

Coleman RoadTrip X-Cursion Propane Grill

Coleman RoadTrip X-Cursion Propane Grill

Weight: 43.2lbs

Dimensions: 32.1” x 19.1” x 12.6”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Coated Cast-Iron

No. of Burners: 2

One of the most sought out brands in the outdoor gear industry is Coleman, and the RoadTrip X-Cursion Propane Grill is no exception to its high performance. This model is one of the best portable grills in this review, and it has a lot of amazing features that will make your grilling experience quick and easy.

What we like about the RoadTrip X-Cursion is that it's a complete upgrade of their previous LXE. Unlike the previous model, the X-Cursion has a single elongated burner, which allows you to change from grill to griddle. After testing this new feature, we're happy to say that it still brings out even heat all throughout the burner.

Don't be deceived though, you can adjust the heat in the two burners separately. With 20,000 BTUs, you won't have any problem cooking your food for a long period of time. Plus, it doesn't require you to move your food around as much, since it provides even cooking.

Contrary to the LXE, the X-Cursion only has one table on the side, which means that you would have to look for another place to place your beer, for example. Another great thing about this portable grill however is that it has an Instastart Push-Button Ignition, so you don't have to bring any match or lighter with you.

Also, this is one of the most portable gas grills in this category thanks to its fold-up wheeled legs, which you can be moved and placed on any surface.

Finally, when it comes to cleaning, you'll surely love the non-stick grill, and the DripTrap feature that catches all the grease.

The only thing that we didn't like about the Coleman RoadTrip X-Cursion Propane Grill is that the side table can be a little flimsy. We're not sure if it can handle the folding and opening throughout its use. Plus, we read some complaints on the internet about some users having actually experienced the breaking of this side table.

Best portable charcoal grill

BEAU JARDIN Portable Charcoal Grill

BEAU JARDIN Portable Charcoal Grill

Weight: 15.47lbs

Dimensions: 18” x 18” x 28”

Grill Material: Thickened Porcelain-Enameled Steel

No. of Burners: 1

If there's one thing that charcoal grilling makes people think about, it's the old kettle grill style. The BEAU JARDIN Portable Charcoal Grill is one of the most affordable and efficient grills in this category thanks to its simplistic design.

What we like about the BEAU JARDIN is that, although it's made with affordable materials, it's stable, sturdy, functional, and charcoal-efficient. Considering its price, it is a nice surprise that the grill is made with aluminum and steel, which makes it easily portable and lightweight.

The entire grill can be disassembled, meaning that you have to allocate some of your time arranging it before actually cooking. With the help of the manual and the included tools, we were personally able to assemble everything in under 30 minutes. We suggest that you try to assemble the grill before actually going on your trip, to ensure that you won't mess up and get hungry.

Everything about this grill is functional, and you won't see any advanced feature that may increase its price. Since the targeted buyers might be on a tight budget, but looking for a great charcoal grill, this product is practical in many aspects. For example, there's a hooded lid that lets you easily cook hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetables, and more.

You'll also find an aluminum ash catch tray that's very easy to clean once you're done cooking. The metal legs are well balanced, even when we tried to use them on the beach. What surprised us the most is that, unlike its direct competitors, you'll find two wheels for better portability on this grill.

Finally, when it comes to controlling the heat, everything is manual. This means that you have to either increase or decrease the amount of charcoal to ensure that you have the ideal temperature for your food.

We didn't find any downside to the BEAU JARDIN Portable Charcoal Grill. What we found, however, are some complaints by some users who had a hard time assembling the entire grill together, which is why we strongly suggest that you try assembling it before leaving for your trip.

Lodge L410 Pre-Seasoned Sportsman's Charcoal Grill

Weight: 32lbs

Dimensions: 20.06” x 8.12” x 10.37”

Grill Material: Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron

No. of Burners: 1

If you're looking for a portable charcoal grill that can last for years with minimum wear and tear, then you should definitely check out the Lodge L410 Pre-Seasoned Sportsman's Charcoal Grill. With its cast-iron build, you can rest assured that it retains longer heat from your charcoal, and is very easy to clean.

What we like about the Lodge L410 is that it's simple, compact, portable, very durable, and functional. We honestly couldn't ask for more with this charcoal grill because everything was set up in an organized manner.

Also, the entire grill can be set up in under 5 minutes by following the provided manual. The startup is pretty simple as well. All you have to do is put your charcoal inside, douse some lighter fluid, and light them after a couple of minutes.

Additionally, the L410 Sportsman's grill feels sturdy thanks to its cast-iron design. It's one of the most charcoal-efficient grills in this review because we only had to refill charcoal a couple of times, even if we were cooking up some steaks for many people.

Plus, its pre-seasoned grill is good enough not to have to worry about your food sticking onto the grill itself, and the flavor of your food gets better in time. The entire grill is also very easy to clean, which means you won't have to waste a lot of time washing after eating.

Last but definitely not least, the adjustable grill grate and easy-to-open door make this charcoal grill a cut above the rest. Depending on what you're cooking, you can lift the grill a little higher to keep your food at your desired temperature. Plus, the draft door gives you easy access to add or reduce charcoal whenever you need to.

What we didn't like about the Lodge L410 Pre-Seasoned Sportsman's Charcoal Grill however is that its handles are small, which makes it quite hard to carry. Additionally, for its small size, it's a lot heavier than its competitors, and the cast-iron gets really hot, so you have to be careful when handling it.

Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill

Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill

Weight: 31.5lbs

Dimensions: 17.75” x 17.75” x 13”

Grill Material: Chrome-Coated Steel

No. of Burners: 1

One of the best portable charcoal grills in this review is the Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill. With its simplistic Japanese design, and steel-built frame, you literally don't have to worry about anything but cooking your food.

What we like about the Takibi Fire and Grill is that it's so easy to set up. For the first time in a long time, we didn't have to look for the instruction manual or a YouTube video that explains how to assemble this grill. You'll only find five pieces, which include a baseplate stand, grill bridge, grill net, Pack & Carry Fireplace L, and a carrying case.

For better cooking with charcoal, you can also purchase the Fireplace Coal Bed separately. We tried this product too, and with it, cooking becomes faster and more efficient.

Although the first thought you'll have when assembling this Fire and Grill is that it looks too expensive and so shiny that you wouldn't want to ruin it by starting a fire, we noticed that it doesn't degrade, and ages the metal more beautifully with use.

The baseplate stand is sturdy enough for you to put multiple planks of wood and coals inside the fireplace. We were able to cook barbeque, s'mores, and vegetable skewers easily. Plus, with the coal bed, we were able to adjust the height of our food to ensure that we have the right temperature.

We love the fact that even strong winds don't blow off the fire. Also, the added carrying case feels exceptional since the stand can be folded, and can easily be tucked in, making it compact and portable.

What we didn't like about the Snow Peak Takibi Fire and Grill however is that it's more expensive than the other products in this review. Plus, you would need to spend a couple more bucks for the Fireplace Coal Bed (which is worth it for the price). The items are also pretty heavy, and can be slightly tricky to carry around because the carrying case has two velcro straps, and one of them is shorter than the other.

Best tailgating grill

Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill

Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill

Weight: 46.67lbs

Dimensions: 30.2” x 19.2” x 16.1”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Coated, Cast-Iron Cooking Grates

No. of Burners: 3

Are you looking for a portable grill that is as mobile as a suitcase? Well, no need to look further; the Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill has got you covered. With its foldable legs with wheels, foldable side tables, and an outstanding grilling plate, you will surely enjoy bringing this baby on any trip you go.

What we like about the RoadTrip 285 is that it's made with steel that feels durable and sturdy. Partnered with porcelain-coated cast-iron cooking grates, we didn't have any doubts that this could produce a great cooking experience and last for years.

We are happy to know that assembling this product is a breeze. All you have to do is unfold the legs of the stand, open the lid, push the ignition button to start the fire, and you're all set. Even though it has its own stand, we still recommend that you put it on a smooth surface to avoid it getting wobbly.

Grilling and cooking camping meals is also easy. With its InstaStart Ignition Push-Button, you can expect matchless lighting. Plus, you only have to do it once each time you want to cook. You'll find three burners, which can all be independently adjusted for better temperature control. Additionally, you'll find a built-in thermometer on the lid to ensure that you don't overcook or undercook your food.

Last but not least, you can purchase different cooktops, like a stove grate or griddle, to improve this tailgating grill's versatility and performance.

What we didn't like about the Coleman RoadTrip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill, on the other hand, is that the handles are a bit flimsy. Other users mentioned that within the first few times they used this grill, the handles completely broke off, which is why we totally recommend you to be careful when carrying this grill.

Cuisinart CGG-180T Portable Gas Grill

Cuisinart CGG-180T Portable Gas Grill

Weight: 18.5lbs

Dimensions: 18.6” x 17.6” x 11.8”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Enameled Grate and Stainless Steel Burner

No. of Burners: 1

Considered by many as one of the most portable and lightweight grillers on the market today, the Cuisinart CGG-180T has all the right features for a great grill. With porcelain-enameled grill grates, you can expect a quick and even cooking experience.

What we like about the Cuisinart CGG-180T is that it's small and light enough to carry around in your trunk. We didn't encounter any problem when we were assembling it because Cuisinart provided a clear and easy-to-read instruction manual. Although, we suggest that you try to assemble it before leaving for your trip, or to bring your tools with you to ensure that you won't have any problems.

In terms of grilling performance, you shouldn't expect a lot from this tailgate grill, because it only has 5,500 BTU, which is actually understandable considering its size and price tag. This is not a big deal since most of its direct competitors are within the same BTU range as well.

Other features that we like about the Cuisinart CGG-180T is its foldable side tables, where you can put your belongings, sauces, tools, etc. There's also a twist electric ignition for easy start-up, which would eliminate the need to bring stick lighters and matches. You'll also find a spill-resistant drip tray to catch all the oil from what you're cooking.

What we didn't like about the Cuisinart CGG-180T Portable Gas Grill however is that the wind can sometimes cause some problems. Since the burner is not low enough to protect the fire, there were times that we had to restart the fire on the grill.

Blackstone Grills Tailgater Portable Gas Grill and Griddle Combo

Blackstone Grills Tailgater Portable Gas Grill and Griddle Combo

Weight: 75lbs

Dimensions: 52” x 24” x 38.5”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Coated Cast-Iron Grill Grates

No. of Burners: 2

Versatility is the number one priority of the Blackstone Grills Tailgater Portable Gas Grill and Griddle Combo. Just like the name suggests, you'll find two different burners that will allow you to cook almost anything you want. From grilling barbeques, frying up eggs, and boiling your early morning coffee, the Blackstone Tailgate has got you covered.

What we like about the Blackstone Tailgater Grill and Griddle Combo is the versatility and portability. First of all, you'll see the griddle, or grill, on the right-hand side, and a large burner on either side. There's also a half-grill hood included in the set, meaning that you can do a low-heat grill on one side, and cook your steak in high heat on the opposite side.

The telescoping and folding legs, which are patented in the U.S., will allow you to adjust the height of this grill freely. You can either go for a long stand with its sturdy base, or let it sit flat on top of your tailgate.

Setting up can be a little difficult with a tailgate griller because of its separate parts. We did, however, tried setting it up in our backyard before going on our trip, which made it a lot easier once we were out in the woods. Without the first couple of tries setting it up, it would have taken us almost an hour and a half, but by constantly doing it, we became a lot faster.

What we didn't like about the Blackstone Grills Tailgater Portable Gas Grill and Griddle Combo is that the grease management can be a little flimsy. This means that any drippings from your food or marinade can slip off to the bast of your burner, and be sticky.

Best portable pellet grill

Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett Pellet Grill

Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett Pellet Grill

Weight: 57lbs

Dimensions: 31.75” x 34” x 23”

Grill Material: Steel

No. of Burners: 1

Pellet grills are becoming some of the most sought out grill types for campers. With its ease to use, convenience, and versatility, there's no doubt that the Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett Pellet Grill can provide you a great camping experience with its amazing features.

What we like about the Davy Crockett is that it's cleverly designed for you to easily attach it to an electrical outlet without going in and around the grill. It also comes with an adapter that's compatible with a cigarette lighter in any car.

To start grilling, all you have to do is put your wood pellets on the hopper, and move it to the firebox. You don't need any ignition or fuel to start any fire. Once plugged in, the smoke will put flavor into your food, and the steam inside will cook it for you.

This Green Mountain Grill has the capability to heat between 200°F and 550°F, which means that you don't have to worry about cooking different varieties of food during your trip. Aside from this, this griller has loads of features that can make your life easy.

First of all, you'll find a pellet hopper that lets you monitor how many pellets you're consuming, a firebox that provides airflow that efficiently distributes heat, an auger system that's micro-adjustable, and a speed fan to provide an efficient supply of oxygen.

There's also a digital controller that lets you input the precise temperature you want. This feature includes a WiFi Smart Control, a USB charging port, and dual meat probes for better cooking.

What we didn't like about the Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett Pellet Grill is that the legs can be a bit flimsy. Meaning that if you're on uneven terrain, you can expect the grill to become wobbly. Additionally, there have been complaints online about the thermometer being defective. Fortunately though, Green Mountain has great customer service, and can handle these complaints in no time.

Camp Chef Pursuit Portable Pellet Grill PPG20

Weight: 82lbs

Dimensions: 38” x 18.5” x 21”

Grill Material: Slide and Grill Technology

No. of Burners: 1

One of the renowned companies that produce high-quality camping accessories and equipment is Camp Chef. The Pursuit Portable Pellet Grill, more widely known as PPG20, is considered one of the best pellet grills on the market today thanks to its efficiency in cooking with minimum pellets.

What we like about the Camp Chef PPG20 is that you can simultaneously smoke and grill your food in the same cooking session. The overall feature of this pellet grill allows you to control the temperature inside the lid and on the food itself thanks to the two metal probes that are included in the package.

Another feature that we noticed on this pellet grill is the lever-activated searing feature. By maneuvering this lever, you can either increase or decrease the flame on the internal firepot towards the grill grates.

What we didn't like about the Camp Chef Pursuit Portable Pellet Grill PPG20, on the other hand, is that it's extremely heavy. You would need a helping hand when you're planning to carry or move this grill around, but once it's set on the ground and standing on its wheels, it becomes easy to move around your campsite.

Weight: 41lbs.

Dimensions: 14.5” x 31.5” x 19.5”

Grill Material: Porcelain-Enameled, Cast-Iron Cooking Grates

No. of Burners: 1

When it comes to portable electric grills, nothing can beat the Weber Q2400 Portable Electric Grill. It is a huge upgrade from the previous model, the Weber Q240. You'll notably find larger side handles, a sturdier body, and control knobs. Also, it has a searing facility that you'll seldom find in this category.

What we like about the Weber Q2400 is that, unlike most of the products in this review and on the market, this one doesn't require any assembling. It already comes fully assembled, making it more compact. You can also purchase the Weber Grill Cart separately to make it more portable.

The grate is made from porcelain-enameled and cast-iron, making it non-stick, and providing better control for the heat. There's also an aluminum heat retention liner, which gives heat consistency all throughout your cooking.

Durability-wise, you don't have to worry about any easy wear and tear on this electric grill, because Weber is known as one of the best manufacturers that creates durable products. The body of this grill is made from heavy cast aluminum and added with a glass-reinforced nylon frame.

We didn't see any downsides to the Weber Q2400 Portable Electric Grill. Although, we found some features that could use a little upgrade for this grill to be a cut ahead of the rest. A built-in thermometer would have been a great addition for better temperature control, for example. Plus, the 6-foot long power cord could be a little longer, considering this grill is better when it's outdoors.

George Foreman 15-Serving Electric Grill

George Foreman 15-Serving Electric Grill

Weight: 21lbs

Dimensions: 22.2” x 20.5” x 13”

Grill Material: George Tough Nonstick Coating

No. of Burners: 1

If you're looking for a more affordable option for a portable electric grill that still provides a great cooking experience, then you should definitely take a look at the George Foreman 15-Serving Electric Grill. With its simplistic and easy-to-setup design, non-stick and easy to clean grate, and fat-removing slope, you'll be surprised at how convenient this grill is.

What we like about the George Foreman Electric Grill is that it provides good grill marks when cooking your food. Not only that, but it has a dial-in feature that lets you know if the grill is turned on, or if it has reached your desired temperature. You'll see that the setting comes from the “off” switch, and counts 1-5 for the heat.

Setting up this electric grill is very easy. It took us almost 10 minutes on our first try, but we actually did it a lot faster as we kept trying. To start cooking, all you have to do is plug the grill in, turn the switch on, and start pre-heating the grill.

Since it has a distinctive design, you can safely use it both inside and outside your house. Although, you would need to ensure that there's an electrical outlet on your campsite to ensure that you can use this grill. Additionally, you'll find a fat-removing slope that's a trademark of George Foreman's grills.

What we didn't like about the George Foreman 15-Serving Electric Grill is that, when you're cooking greasy food, you'll find the heat control panel spattered with grease. Although, you can't really expect a clean environment when you're cooking. It's also a little tough to remove the grill from the base, so you might need a helping hand, or a good strength to do it.

Weight: 11.95lbs

Dimensions: 6.5” x 13.6” x 15.2”

Grill Material: Metal

No. of Burners: 1

If you're looking for a budget-friendly portable grill that's light enough to be carried around, and can still perform great cooking, then you should look no further than the Coleman Fold N Go Propane Grill. Even with its price, you'll find multiple features on this little grill. Let's go through them.

What we like about the Fold N Go Propane Grill is that it's so easy to use. There's no set up needed because it comes assembled. All you have to do is plug in the propane, and push the InstaStart button, and you're all set! You don't need any stick lighter or match.

Additionally, this grill is equipped with 6,000 BTU cooking power, allowing you to cook steaks, barbeques, chickens, and so much more with ease. They also added a PerfectFlow Technology that makes the heat steady enough to provide consistent cooking performance.

You also have the ability to control the temperature with the adjustable burner. Also, cleaning is a breeze, because the surface of the grill is removable and dishwasher-safe. There's also a removable grease management tray that collects all the grease. Fortunately enough, this part of the grill is also dishwasher-safe.

What we didn't like about the Fold N Go Propane Grill is that, through continuous use and cleaning, you might see the stamped steel that is used for the grill grate starting to flake off. We actually understand why this starts to happen; within this price range, this typically happens to its competitors as well.

The Bitty Big Q Compact Retractable Grill is considered as one of the most portable and affordable budget grills on the market today. Unlike the previous products in the review that come with stands and burner, this grill has a 160-square-inch grilling surface, on which you can put your food.

What we like about the Bitty Big Q is that it's simple enough that almost anyone can use it. It has three adjustable levels to make sure that what you're cooking has the right temperature. It's also very easy to clean. Since it's made with stainless steel, it's safe to put this in the dishwasher, and let the machine do the work for you.

While this is the most affordable and portable grill in this review, since it doesn't have a burner of its own, the downside of this grill is that you would need to build a campfire first before you can actually cook with it. Plus, you would need a stand where you can put this retractable grill on top of for stability.

How do you use a portable grill?

Grills are devices that use a heat source below to cook food. There are many variations when it comes to grills, like charcoal grills, electric grills, gas grills, pellet grills, and more. Accordingly, these grills can be used in their own ways.

  • Charcoal grills

Charcoals grills, like the name suggests, use charcoal to cook food on top of the grill. Most of the grills in this category have their own charcoal grate and an ashtray. To use such a grill, open the lid, put charcoal on the grate, put some charcoal liquid, and light it up using matches or a stick lighter.

  • Electric grills

Electric grills are mostly found at a home or backyard setup. Although, many campers nowadays prefer to use electric grills while on a trip for convenience and portability purposes. To use an electric grill, all you have to do is plug it in an electrical outlet or the cigarette lighter on a car.

  • Gas grills

Gas grills are more common in campsites because this type of grills is easy to light up. It typically uses propane tanks to fuel the burners. High-end grills usually have an InstaStart ignition button, where all you have to do is twist the knob, and push the button to start a fire. However, affordable gas grills would require you to use a match or a stick lighter to light it up.

  • Pellet grills

Pellet grills are typically the higher end of charcoal grills. Unlike charcoal grills, with which you have to carry loads of heavy and dirty charcoal, pellets are biofuel that can easily be lighted up by ignition buttons, matches, or lighters. These are more environmental-friendly, and are easier to clean up.
